Today Instagram has announced some exciting new changes for businesses who use the platform. For the first time you will be able to mark your account as a business giving you access to new features and tools. Initially rolling out to the US, Australia and New Zealand, the changes will be here in the UK by the end of the year.
New Contact Button
Currently Instagram only offers one way for your customers to get in touch with you, through the website link in your profile. With a new business profile there will also be the option of including a ‘Contact’ button where you can choose whether your customers email, call or text you.
Currently businesses have as little insight into Instagram posts as the average user unless you use an additional tool. Following the updates however, you will be able to access data about who your followers are as well as insights into how well your posts are performing.
They will also offer you the option to promote your posts and include a call-to-action button within them. This update doesn’t come as a surprise, seeing as Instagram is owned by Facebook, but it will give you a quick and easy way to get your posts seen by more of your target audience.
